i think your ram is very small for an emulator to run faster.Android Studio 2.0 is reported to not only have a much faster emulator, but employ “instant run”, which allows certain changes in your source, such as the XML, to be deployed in seconds to the target without the APK having to be rebuilt and redeployed.I do not know about other operating systems like OSX, but feels like a windows thing to me. I’ve got a laptop with dualboot, on windows the emulator takes about 15 minutes to start up, with linux about 30 seconds.
I have found the emulator to run way (and by way I mean waaaay) faster on linux.
